Boltise won’t start

  • Confirm you are on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit).
  • Check Windows Event Viewer for crash logs.

AI chat

No response, or it loads forever

  1. Confirm you are signed in.
  2. Check that you have AI available at all. Hosted Boltise AI needs a paid plan — Plus, Pro or Max. On the Free tier nothing will answer until you add your own API key in Settings ▸ AI Providers. See Bring Your Own Key.
  3. Check your internet connection.
  4. If you use your own key, verify it in settings.

“You have used all your AI usage for this billing period”

You have spent this cycle’s Boltise AI credits. They reset on your billing anniversary, when the renewal payment goes through — not on a rolling 30-day clock, and not on the first of the month.

That distinction matters if a payment fails or is late: the credits do not come back until it is processed, so a card that needs updating will look like an AI outage. Check your billing details first.

“Invalid or expired token”

Your session expired. Sign out and back in.

Database

Connect to MySQL first in the Database Manager. The export toggle only appears with an active connection.

Can’t connect

  • Confirm the MySQL or MariaDB server is running.
  • Recheck host, port, username, and password.
  • Allow remote connections if the database is not on localhost.

Server management

FXServer won’t start

  • Confirm FXServer is installed and the path is set.
  • Make sure server.cfg has a valid license key.
  • Read the console output for the specific error.

Console shows garbled text

Your terminal may not support color codes. It is cosmetic and does not affect the server.

Performance

Slow file tree

Boltise virtualizes the file tree. With thousands of files the first scan takes a few seconds; later loads are cached.

High memory

  • Close unused tabs.
  • Stop resources you are not working on.
  • Restart Boltise if it climbs past about 1 GB.
